The Faculty of Animal Husbandry is committed to promoting sustainable consumption within its academic and operational activities. Initiatives include reducing plastic waste in faculty events, encouraging the use of reusable materials in laboratories and fieldwork, and promoting energy-efficient practices in faculty buildings. In addition, we encourage paperless administration and digital reporting to minimize resource use. Through these simple yet impactful efforts, the faculty fosters sustainable behavior among students, staff, and the broader academic community.
The faculty has initiated various programs focused on waste reduction and circular economy practices, especially in the context of livestock farming. Organic waste from livestock operations is processed into compost or liquid organic fertilizer, reducing environmental pollution and supporting sustainable agriculture. Students and researchers are also involved in projects that upcycle agricultural by-products and explore eco-friendly feed alternatives. These initiatives demonstrate the faculty’s commitment to resource efficiency and environmentally conscious practices in animal production systems.
Sustainability is integrated into the curriculum and research agenda of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry. Students are introduced to topics such as sustainable livestock systems, waste management, efficient feed utilization, and environmentally friendly farming practices. Faculty researchers also lead studies on optimizing resource use and minimizing the environmental impact of animal farming. These educational and scientific efforts aim to equip future livestock professionals with the knowledge and values needed to support responsible consumption and production in the agricultural sector.
